- Why does the elevator at work smell like pickles?

- Why hasn't anyone done a Torchwood vid to Rilo Kiley's A Better Son or Daughter?

- I am going to look at the coat in a few hours. It's amazing what I can deduce about someone from a ten minute conversation. Sometimes, I wish I knew less about the world. I'll tell you the whole story (which is likely to get weirder) after I've bought the thing or I've determined it's not the coat.

- I am going crazy for Sam to post chapter 3 of his new fic. I like Sam's work and am often moved by it, but it doesn't tend to eat my head. This fic however -- holy shit. I'm wondering if he's going to give us flashbacks to when they retconned Ianto, and what those last 24 ours leading up to that was like. Everytime I think about it my brain responds which such an intense sent of conflicting signals on it, I'm in awe.

- [livejournal.com profile] schpahky sent me a replacement copy of Shark Attack 3: Megalodon. It feels like a good luck charm (just as, oddly, the initial gift from [livejournal.com profile] hofnarr did).

- I may create a filter for my academic and perhaps wanky thoughts about fandom. So not my little "Dear TW Fandom" tirades, but some thinking outloud about power dynamics in fandom. If you want in, if I decide to do it, let me know. I'm thinking of writing something about a weird power dynamic thing I've noticed, but I need to hear myself think outside the echo chamber of my own head without calling down a shitstorm as I look for the right language.

I am going crazy for Sam to post chapter 3 of his new fic.

I am so with you on that one. This every two day posting schedule is driving me bokers - I'm actually rereading the start right now to ease the pain.

It's a really weird story. Sweet, funny, totally awful and with an erotic charge in some really disturbing places. It's atypical of Sam in a lot of ways, and I'm going to be really curious to hear what he has to say about it when it's finished.

Good luck with the coat. I hope it turns out to be workable after all this. I know how much the right coat means to you.

And yeah, I'm totally with you on Sam's latest. It's fascinating and twisty and wrenching in an oddly moving way. And I love the sort of AU-within-AU aspect of a Ianto who was and yet never was in Torchwood. I'm gnawing my arm waiting for the next chapter, although with as much stuff as I've got ahead of me today and tonight, it may be tomorrow before I have time to read it. Gah!

Vinegar? It's great for cleaning stainless steel and glass...

No. It's definitely pickles, not just vinegar.

You can count me in on the filter. I'm not into fandom, but I like academic and wanky thoughts.....

Sam's fics, I find, have an edge of whimsy to them. This one doesn't. It's still his spot-on dialogue and characterization, but much more grounded, in an odd way.

Count me in for any filters, obviously. ;)

I'd like inside the filter, please.

I'd like in to the filter -- I don't know the fandom, but am interested in power dynamics.

I'd like to be in the filter. Thinky-thoughts on fandom are always interesting.

Be interested in the filter.

No idea on the pickles. Someone dropped/spilled their lunch?

What do you need to have seen of TW/DrWho to not be spoiled by Sam's stuff? Because now I'm intrigued based on the comments.

For this story, TW seasons 1 and 2. Who not necessary. And you could probably read it without having seen anything and have it make sense.

I'd like in on the filter, please. Both halves of the subject sound interesting to me.

Mind you, I like your writing enough that I'd probably opt-in to a filter devoted to detailed ranting about intestinal problems or conducting an inventory of your sock drawer. :-)

Count me in on the filter. I'm very interested.

I am going crazy for Sam to post chapter 3 of his new fic.

I hit the refresh button every five minutes. So far I haven't been a fan of Sam's fics, but this one feels a lot less fluffy and I'm probably going to reread it before the next chapter is up.
