1. There's that skunky smell that says your downstairs neighbors smoke a lot of pot and there's that skunky smell that says they've acquired a pet skunk. I am voting for actual wildlife here.

2. 8:30pm is waaaay to early to have to see people fucking in my local subway station, don't you think?

3. Jesus christ this story! Hit me hard and very personally. http://community.livejournal.com/thestopwatch/6626.html

Ja, early and also, wow, it's a little cold outside for that sort of carry-on.

I didn't realize you hadn't read Que Samsera, Sera! I would have pointed you to it - it is very much your kind of story.

Yes. Yes it is.

Also, specifically, I had this really tumultuous love affair for seven years in my 20s, and for a long time we were convinced we kept getting thrown together because we needed to figure out how to do it. And then one day, I realized, it was actually because we needed to figure out how not to be together.

After a few years of not talking we exchange a note now and ten or very occassionally have dinner, and it's not a bit torturous thing, but the feeling of trying to make those discoveries and solutions was not lost on me reading the fic.

Also the stuff about childhood. And Hrathden. Those were two really masterful things about the character of these men that made the story go from great to AWESOME.

-Skunk is not easily mistaken for pot. You don't make that mistake twice!

-Ew.

-Oh.
And oh.

I think I may want visit your neighbors if it was the former rather than the latter.

boys and girl are boying and girling. You'll have more stuff from me tomorrow. I had that thing tonight. And I am feeling all sick and woeful now.

I'm afraid if I act confused we're now going to start sounding like JB and Scott about our schedules, which is sort of hilarious.

But don't be sick and woeful! I will look forward to awesomeness when it can be produced.

LOL. Just what you need more of in your life.

I think I must just quit leaving the house on days that are as cold as today. I think I have a fever.

It has a certain charm. What's really hilarious is Patty and I are still doing that while on different contintents from each other, because I'm constantly confused by when it's the weekend where she is.

I was blown away by that story when it first came out; I'm so glad it's getting taken out for another spin again and more people will read it.

- Or they've acquired it when high, which wouldn't be surprising.

- I read that story recently too. The parts about childhood and seeming younger then you feel, especially the stuff with Faith, really hit me. So true to their stories.

Rm and I both actually knew someone who thought, while high, that it might be a good idea to acquire a wolf ("The wolf would be cool! We'd smoke together!") so you may not be far off base.

Aw, poor high wolf. That story writes it's self.

The specific exchange was, I think,

"Hey, can you get me a wolf? We could smoke up together. We'd be buddies."

"I think that's a bad idea."

"No, the wolf would be cool."

hahahaha you don't know, the wolf might have been cool. Maybe wolves are to stoners what white leopards were to rich women in the '20's.

Maybe they got ferrets? If I remember correctly, ferrets are related to pole cats. If you don't have the scent glands removed, they can smell pretty...well...skunky. Personally, I think they stink even after they've had their scent glands removed.

I tend to associate ferret ownership with stoners, not sure why.
