  • Another lovely night at Dances of Vice. Patty and I had a protrait drawn of us that's amazing, and some random people took our photos. Hopefully we'll be able to link all soon. Also, bought some prints. Trip to the frame shop tomorrow.

I do get the sense that the Montauk Club is less amused by our presence than in the past; the venue vibe felt weird.

I dressed like a girl, and that was fun, except for the part where people intrude in my personal space on the subway and also try to look down my dress really conspicuously. Ah, by next month, I should have my suit.

    After-event steak, delightful as ever.

  • Hey, fanfic writers, come to WriterCon. I'm doing stuff for it, as is [livejournal.com profile] invisible_lift and [livejournal.com profile] kalichan. [livejournal.com profile] rusty_halo is one of the organizers. More details when we've got them to give.

  • A chapter I submitted for an academic text was rejected. However, I was asked to email about discussing it as a paper submission for a journal produced by the same folks. This is, as far as I can gather, an excellent thing, but it has also demonstrated to me how out of the submission game I've been for a while, as it's been a bit wonky in my head. On the other hand, have noodled about it, and will write up said email tonight and am leaning towards it all sorting out.

  • Off to work soon for just a few hours. Slow morning with late sleeping, but some productivity including boring stuff like changing cat little and buying toilet paper.

  • I am wearing the cute sweater [livejournal.com profile] redstapler gave me. It has airplanes on it.

  • I am doing some A/V stuff for Associated Content soon. Should be interesting. If nothing else, it will teach me to better use the video camera features on my camera.

Thank you for pimping Writercon. :)

BTW, have you considered putting in a bid for a fan-led event? Like a Torchwood and/or Doctor Who gathering or party or informal panel? You'd basically be in charge of the content and the con would provide the space and put it on the schedule. (We can't guarantee space to everyone, but I will say that no one has put in a bid for a Torchwood or Doctor Who event yet, and we really want to have those fandoms represented....)

Actually, I have and have been talking to Kali and Lifty about it. The real question is if we want to make panel or make party (q: if we do a party, can we bring in our own food or do we have to use hotel catering?)
