There are times when it simply seems best to not even look.
offensiveness highlights include "slash is clearly fantasy because gay men don't do monogamy"
I made it 1:09 in and figured I'd best close the window lest I start formulating some sort of wild, flamey crazy thing.
What a douche. One wonders if he ever bothered to speak to anyone who writes slash. By and for heterosexual women" Well, yeah, but what about the hordes of lesbians who write and enjoy slash?
I didn't make it that far into the vid.

I totally love it when old men tell us about what we ladies think!
Hahahahahahahaha!!!
(Laughing so I don't cry. Good gawd.)

It is such a mystery that our silly little minds are just too weak to self determine, doncha know.
What the shit is this? ::facepalm::
Did this guy just google a few things and run with it?
He clearly has no clue what he's talking about.
"It's nothing like real gay male sex is...?"
Because all gay male sex is the same?
*headdesk*

I hear he's some kind of evolutionary psychologist or something? Isn't it great when one's area of expertise proves all your prejudices? [/sarcasm]
I will be very happy when all the folks who study people grasp the idea that human variation is probably greater than human similarities.

I only got about halfway through the video before I had to turn it off...it's such bullshit.
But I thank you for posting it, cause I found this one on the same page, and I loved it LOL http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0wFzgA_sUP4&feature=related

I clearly have some issues of my own to work through because I saw the photograph of an old white guy, saw the description "anthropologist" and thought, "Nope, not a single thing you could possibly have to say on this subject will be either accurate or relevant, I'll pass." Evidently that was the right decision.

Was anyone else totally freaked out by the Dr. Zaius head in the background of the interview?
Aww, wook at da middle aged man twying to be hip by tawking about swash. Awww.
YES! I'm glad someone else caught that.
I actually do think a study of the psychology behind it would be interesting to read about, and I think an anthropologist would be a good one to do it, but this guy...well, he's trying, and I don't really think he's being intentionally derogatory in any way, but unfortunately he's missed the point of it. "By and for heterosexual women"--wrong. Maybe 40 years ago, but not today. He also says that gay male sex isn't monogamous, which unfortunately smacks of ignorance seeing as how there are couples of all pairings who are faithful to one partner, just as there are people of all sexes and orientations who sleep with multiple partners. And then there was the bit about anal sex being a substitute for vaginal intercourse.
And then there's the femme slash, and the het...I mean, erotic fanfiction goes far beyond straight women getting off on gay men. Oh, silly old men.
A middle aged straight man telling me why I read slash? Tell me more! Listen, you can be homophobic and wrong about your topic, but don't bring Dr. Zaius into it. He has nothing to do with this!
But what about the time he and Cornelius did it on the Statue of Liberty's crown?
I honestly didn't even hear half of what he said, I just kept hearing the "Planet of the Apes" musical from the Simpsons playing in my head.
Ye Gods... There's so much wrong there, I'm not sure where I'd start. Perhaps a_cj could set him straight (so to speak)...
