I saw him on the Rachel Maddow show and he broke my heart. He's also right; asking our soldiers to lie doesn't build stronger units and goes against everything taught at places like West Point.

It's annoying that the legislation in New Hampshire has to be reworded to reassure bigots that their ability to carry on being bigots will not be impaired, but the since the net result is going to make them dreadfully unhappy anyway, it's not thatannoying.8D

Current Military regulation require members of the military to keep secret the the fact of a lawful marriage in any one of five, soon to be six, states, if it's a same sex one. At some point the absurdity is going to be too great to not break.
The thought that the U.S. military is currently less progressive than that of Argentina has got to give someone pause.

Yeah, they can legally get married but not claim the benefits of marriage? Someone needs to make that point to the Pentagon.

Don't count on it. The usual saying in the military is, "if we want you to get married, we'll issue you a spouse".

The CAF presided over its first same sex marriage marriage some four years ago. It's not like Canada is a *completely* foreign country or something.
