rmI need a cheap, reliable, no drama hosting service that will makes things as uncomplex as possible for me in terms of registering a domain name and allowing me to update my site via FTP whenever, and in terms of not dinging me on transfer fees. I Google, and 8-billion things come up, and it's too much for my poor little brain.

**URGENT**
Date: 2004-02-24 02:35 pm (UTC)some places that are claiming ' free ' domain hosting are doing some evil stuff.
Basically they ask you to enter the domain you want, to see if it exists or not. If you don't register it spot on, then they register it via a domain squatting service - and then when you come back later offer to 'sell' you the domain at a much higher price.
Only a few places are doing this, but it's a word of caution.
