i am in a stripclub with Writercon people. They said burlesque but no this is lapdances and bad 80s rock. so i'm sitting here in a suit spitting out torchwood fic bunnies. The strippers can't dance but now they are stripping to The Who.

From reading stuff like this, my impression is that part of the appeal of the strip club is the ability to give a beautiful woman hundreds of dollars in exchange for her pretending to actually like you. It boggles my mind that anyone could suspend disbelief thoroughly enough to make this kind of experience worth the money to them.
