  • I'm up, working late, and not even on my D*C presentations. Holy shit.

  • BUT I AM ON MY NEW COMPUTER.

  • Patty meanwhile has a cold.

  • I want to continue to fight the good fight on a number of issues, but I think it's going to have to wait a bit until I'm in Atlanta with the command center (ha) set up. Seriously, I owe a bazillion people emails about meetings and drinks. This Dragon*Con I think is going to be intense in a completely different way than last year's. But, because it's still funny, for the ten people that know the joke: WAFFLE HOUSE.

  • See you in Atlanta (btw, if you are on the friends list and want to try to catch me somewhere other than my listed programming, use the LJ page widget to my phone, and leave who you are and a way for me to get back to you, preferably by text).

  • I have not packed. I don't even know what I'm packing. It's rather excessive to bring 2 suits, 2 dresses, 4 dress shirts and my favorite slacks for something that's 3.5 days, but I think that's what I'm actually doing. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME? Am I bringing the coat? I don't even fucking know. If I do then I have to bring the rest of Jack's clothes (look, that's how I think when I think costumes), which means then I'm bringing 2 suits, 2 dresses, 5 dress shirts, 2 pairs of slacks and that fucking coat, and that's just batshit. And I STILL can't find my navy blue dress shirt and I'm still pissed off about it. Hi. I think I need a nap.

  • Meanwhile, more good stuff happening.

    • I’m taking a break from scrubbing the gunk under my bathroom sink. Ewwwwww.
    • Ooh, what did you get?
    • Aw. Make her frozen OJ cubes!
    • Hub 3?
    • It did not occur to me until after my brother had made arrangements to visit me next week that he lives in freakin’ Athens, GA. Next year, if finances permit and the guest list warrants, I am so going to Dragon*Con and crashing on his couch.

Meanwhile, thanks to skipping out of any costuming slash cosplaying for Hub 3 I will arrive with a backpack that fits the laptop and everything else. I feel it is a good thing I never got into cosplaying and/or dressing up -> makes travel a lot easier.

Hope you're gonna have a good time, with or without Jack clothes - but seriously - you at a con without Jack clothes? I do find that hard to believe

Because I am a guest at the con, cosplaying is deeply frowned upon for me. But I had sort of threatened to do it for an afternoon with my guest ribbon rolled up anyway, because it felt like a bandaid that just needed to be ripped off post-CoE, but it's logistically possibly more challenging that its emotionally worth for this con.

Yeah I got that from previous posts on the subjects that it would blur boundaries even more than usual. But then, 'd love to see you cosplaying with Lifty, so you know, selfish little wishes here, but hey - it does sound like a shitload of clothes to lug around for a few hours of fun or well-whatever it would be.

Also, I'd have to check the coat, and the coat is irreplaceable, and I normally have it as carry on, so that makes me _super_ nervous. Maybe I'll bring the Jack stuff, sans coat. I dunno.

Have you seen the stacks of luggage in the lobbies on check in/check out days? I see people with four full size suitcases on a regular basis, god/dess only knows what they're bringing to a weekend con... So your wardrobe would be small compared to many people there. :)

And we won't make D*C this year after all, death in the family and flying to MN for the funeral. :/

Travel safe and have a great time at Dragon*Con. One of these years I'll get there.

But, because it's still funny, for the ten people that know the joke: WAFFLE HOUSE.

A non-LJ/Comics industry friend of mine is going to be there, and he's really excited for a visit to a Waffle House. All I could do was snicker mysteriously.

That said, he's a total foodie, so I'd enjoy his take on the actual experience of going to a Waffle House.

    Waffle House.
