Oooo... Orson Welles festival at Film Forum. I missed the first week of stuff, but still a lot of things I want to see on the "big screen" -- (if you've been to Film Forum you know that stock brokers own TV's bigger than their screen, but we do what we can).

I don't know if you have ever listened to a group called "The Alan Parsons Project". Their first album, "Tales of Mystery and Imagination" (release in 1976), was a tribute of a sort to the work of Edgar Allan Poe. Its first track ("A Dream within a Dream") opens with a monologue delivered by Orson Welles. Its beautifully done and really showcases Mr. Welles' capacity to simply speak well. There's another track later in the album that starts with Welles speaking another passage from Poe's work, but I can't remember the title.

They're worth a listen, if you ever get the chance.

Blargh, San Francisco drove this right out of my head. Must at the very least see Othello, (I know, I know) Confidental Report, and The Immortal Story (the ones I've never been able to see, in other words).
