So this morning, Patty and I are lying in bed trying to get up for the Pepper Festival when my phone starts buzzing. It's marchek texting me:

marchek: Macy's is having a buy 1 get 1 free sale on men's neckties. I am overwhelmed. This was not on my agenda today. Argh!
rm: Oh my. I've yet to try actual adult ties. Mine are all boy's. Now that I can do the half-windsor, I could probably use grownup ones though. Hrrrr. Hey am I still Jack in your new phone?
marchek: Yes, sir.

and then more about the ties.... you needed to know. Man, it's a good thing Patty thinks I'm funny.

So the Pepper Festival. Because New York is shit it took us FIVE different trains to get there. And it fucking rained. A lot. RAIN RAIN RAIN. And I was wearing winter whites, which are now all covered in mud. But we tasted some hot sauces, I took some cool pictures that I'll post later and we bought a pommegranite chutney and a fig chipotle hot sauce and I'm making nachos for dinner again tonight (since we just got home from an awesome Trader Joe's run).

In the department of weird, this bra has my name.

Did you people all see Rachel Maddow freaking out last night about the kakapo sex? That shit was HILARIOUS.

So far, it's been a really good happy day, and shall continue as such. Patty has reading to do for school, at which point I will be a productive writer or self-promoter or something, depending on how the mood takes me.

I did not know that. I think it's new then, I've not been in ages. But that is AWESOME. Maybe she was getting stuff for Olbermann, since he has celiac.
