Bonaire, which is part of the Dutch Antilles, is probably the island we liked the most. The beaches were stunning and I made a half-assed attempt at snorkeling with Patty's help and discovered it was awesome, even if I couldn't even manage to have the breathing thing in my mouth.

Beautiful and not-over-developed highlights of Bonaire included a weird video store sign, Patty buying some pearl jewelry, sailing on a Thai junk (which will be a separate photo post all its own) that used to be owned by a CIA agent, and fish.

From the outdoor pool on the Lido deck. It was waaaaay too windy up there though, and it sorta freaked me out.

A farmer's market along the dock.

Our ship at anchor.

CRAB.

Pelican.

Dudes working on a boat (hail my zoom lens).

Patty strolls by the dock.

A look back towards port.

Iguana.

I have no idea. I saw this at a great distance, took this zoom lens shot and still have NO IDEA.

Forest of the Dead, anyone? Patty, who is not of the Whoniverse, considers turning left.

Speaking of the dead... this video store sign is a dialogue between a T-Rex, Marilynn Monroe and James Dean (who is turning into a film canister). It says:

T-Rex: I know we're all dead!
Marilynn: So are we in heaven?
James: No, this is Movieland.

THIS IS MY FAVORITE THING IN THE HISTORY OF FOREVER.

This dog ain't bad either.

I actually don't remember what this was. That's a little saint statue there... Patty, do you recall if was this a hospital or a school or what?

Rento-Fun, which rents mopeds in town. Say it with me, kids, "RENTO-FUN!"

Looking down an alley towards the pier.

Not how I spell it, but damn close. Kinda weird.

Life-size and outside a store.

Excellent! I am glad to hear it.

I think a lot of cruise lines are getting it as far as making sure they meet the needs of guests who have requests like this. They were great with my father in law who doesn't have dietary concerns but is very limited in mobility due to age.

We never had to ask twice when we needed something moved around (walking steps are really hard for him...so eating dinner on a platform was something we learned we need to request specifically to avoid in the future...). Wheelchairs were aplenty which meant he was able to go ashore.

Also, my husband and son like the dino, marilyn, james pic as well.

I have close ups of each panel for icon-making. Patty and I randomly turn to each other and growl and say "we are all dead now!" a lot since we saw it.
