  • GIP!

(Oh, wow, one eye really looks smaller than the other in the girly shot -- well, hey, the retoucher will fix it on the headshot and then I'll redo it).

I will miss using my drinky Jack icon all the time. But for someone who barely has a drink a month aside from Gally, it seems absurd.

  • I will be away from keys most of today. But keep an eye on [livejournal.com profile] tw_itallchanges. New episode, and it's made of awesomesauce.

  • So in London we're staying in the Brick Lane area. I'm way excited.

  • It'll be late, but I finally figured out what the pitch/treatment I'm doing for class this week is. And I think/hope it's my Big Idea for the important meeting next week. It's also firmly in the category of "I'm going to hell for this."

  • Women's fashion and breasts. Wow, do I want that Hermes outfit.

  • Japan's Princess Aiko refuses to go to school due to bullying.

  • This Formspring thing is sort of interesting. The anonymous interview factor generates, for me anyway, a different tone of response. I'm not sure how long I'll find it amusing for, but hey.

Those first two photos are amazing. The third is, too, except I want to pat down your cowlick.

I'm increasingly thinking of actually doing a headshot of the first one, which means retoucher time, which means the cowlick shall be going away at which point I can redo the icon.

I like the middle icon best. Very sharp.

The photo in your icon is seriously swoon-worthy. I meant to comment on it before, but didn't.

Fair point about the drinky Jack icon. I will miss its hilarity, but these new pics are good.

Interesting (if hardly new) point the NYT makes about the feminine figure in haute couture.

It bears repeating: that shot of you in the suit is awesome.

I am mildly disappointed that the Times article isn't actually titled "Women's fashion and breasts." Also, I totally want to dig out my bowler hat now.

It's also firmly in the category of "I'm going to hell for this." — I personally take that as a good sign. Best of luck!

ETA: BTW, have you seen the video for the Lady Gaga/Beyoncé single "Telephone"?

i was scrolling quickly through my flist, and went "oh, who is that attractive actor(*)! what new show has hit fandom that people are icon-making for?"

    * and i do mean that gender neutrally, my brain didn't get to processing perceived gender before i realized it was you.

That is AWESOME. It also makes me feel sort of tragic, because other than being short and, you know, actually a chick, I look at that middle icon and I go "oh man, I'm so much more castable in that pic than any other."

YES BRICK LANE IS AWESOME. Nevermind the fact that it's so terminally cool there that you get the impression that everyone living there has to concentrate on holding themselves together to keep from dissolving with their own pent up art-school indie boy fashionableness, it's absolutely the best place for people watching. And the gigs are great. And the vintage warehouses are fabulous.

    Basically, good choice.

Oh yay, awesome. We sort of chose this place in a fairly uninformed way beyond cheap, decent reviews, seemed close to places we needed to be.

Lovely pics! Every time I see your pics, I think what luminous skin you have...and also how you seem somehow to have stepped out of an earlier time. I picture you in a Sherlock Holmes episode, or an English country-house mystery.

Makeup and lighting. I am soooooooo not luminous. My skin is in very very good shape for my age (I really am pretty much entirely fine-line free), but luminous, naaaaaah. On the other hand, yeah. I get very little work that's set now. I don't have a now face.

Seriously. I refer to her as "West Coast Jack" as shorthand to people that don't know her when I try to explain to people the wacky nod and respect boy thing she and I do on certain topics sometimes.

She really cleaned up once for a Game Developers Conference after-party that my company was hosting. Really nice. I was quite impressed.

I forget she can be girly, sometimes.

I'd seen photos before, but I'd never seen it in person until this year. Generally, I'm only reliably girly if someone is paying me for it, although I do have my whims about it too.

I have random moments of cleaning up pretty well myself, but it's usually for interviews and when I really want to wear my black business ensemble. I have a leather tie.

AWESOME. What's hard for me is that what I do makes almost every setting I'm in an act of extreme calculation in terms of how I present myself, and it sort of blows, to not really have a default "hey, this is me" thing. I mean I do, my friends know that. But I can't ever just put something on for something because I feel like it. I kinda hate that.

I don't know if this is rude or not, but the third one (the three-quarters face) is so reminiscent of a young Emma Thompson - Fortunes of War era, say.

On the pictures, I like the first and second ones. Yes, your eyes look a bit uneven in the first one, but that's common for EVERYONE. I've through enough figure classes to notice that everyone has one eye a little different than the other. (Maybe it's just God's way of making us look interesting?)

I saw this very photoshopped model (Givenchy?) and both eyes were exactly even and it sort of creeped me out. Don't know why.

And I like the cowlicks in the first one too.

In the second you look very old style- like for some 19th century drama or SH mystery. Or maybe even a LPW mystery?
