seeking couch/room in London

Okay, we've been rebooked on a flight out of Heathrow on Wednesday 4/21 and we need a place to stay as of tomorrow.

If you have a spare room or couch located somewhere on the London tube for a low maintenance queer couple, we would be very grateful. We will certainly find some way to compensate you, but would like to avoid continuing to pay London hotel rates (we're also not sure we'd be able to keep the room for that many days).

Thank you, we're solved for now, but I feel a little tragic that we're not having a volcano-based meetup!

I'd recommend a friend who lives in London... except she's currently stranded in DC.

Hi, I've been on your girlfriend's flist for some years and got here via threewalls. I'm posting here rather than on wordsofastory as this seems to be where the comments are!

I actually live in central London but the trouble is I only have a one-room flat. So you'd probably be more comfortable with

vashtan - but my floor would definitely be better than the street if things go any further wrong for you, so drop me a line (by replying to this commment) if you need to.

I sent out an email to a couple of my UK friends. I'm not sure where they live right now, but maybe it will help! They are all super duper queer friendly - or queer themselves - and I know they both have guest rooms.

We have space in Reading for Saturday, Sunday and Monday nights but our spare room is occupied on Tuesday night :( We are on the RailAir link route from Reading to Heathrow so very handy for that. Also, the place is Somewhat Chaotic as we prepare for two weeks of different houseguests, but as long as you're not expecting a hotel it's probably fine :)

Signal boosted. Fingers crossed. I was stranded by a volcano while traveling as a child. I still don't know how my family managed to find the friend of a friend who picked my brother and I up at the airport and took care of us until flights were being cleared again. That was during one of Mt. St. Helen's smaller eruptions. We were on the ground for the big one, and it was terrifying. Still, this one is grander than any of MSH's, so all I can do is imagine what it's like and see if I can help in any way.

This is the cool thing about the internetz. All the connections and the discovery that really good people do exist out there and they are willing to reach out to strangers--for no other reason than that it is the right thing to do.
