I allowed myself to sleep a bit later than I have been of late (9:30!) eventhough I've a ton to do today to prepare for out of town visitors. That said, I did instinctively wake up without alarm or sunlight at 6:30, and while I went back to sleep, it pleases me grately that this impulse is starting to groove itself into my mind.

Window is open and thus far it seems less sweltering that yesterday. In the strangeness that is my neighborhood, the breeze blowing in smells like baking bread and cured meats, which is rather intense for me in terms of childhood nostaligia's.

Been planning food as I'm going to have at least one frenzied (as opposed to matter of fact) cooking night while people are here -- parmesean risotto with the slightest bit of mushrooms and peppers (with prosciutto for the non-vegetarians), some fresh-made bread (yeah, yeah, it's bread machine and that is a sin, but I'll turn it into garlic bread or a soft foccacia or something), and a salad. Deserts will probably be various forms of not too sweet almond pastries, as they go well with the after-dinner drinkies of choice.

I'd been thinking this was all going to happen after we saw Boheme, but now I'm thinking that's stupid as I don't want to start cooking at 11pm (dining at 11pm is lovely, being over a stove then isn't) and I'll probably be wound up and wanting to sit in a cafe and prattle anyway. So now I'm thinking the big food thing might suit best for Sunday. Dunno. (Hi, I am a Libra, it's not that I don't make decisions, it's that I make a _lot_ of decisions).

Want to go to the cabaret thingy tonight, but it's logistically complicated by someone's flight time arrival. It should work out, and it's right near my house. It'll just be odd is all.
