All my beautiful hotel luck with London?

Just went to shit with Bristol.

For some ridiculous procrastinate-y reason I kept putting off booking my room at the Marriott for like $80/night. Now it's up to $120. Which means I can stay at the super cheap and totally not bad Holiday Inn instead, but DAMMIT, IF I'D ONLY DONE THIS YESTERDAY.... now the question is whether I sit on the process and wait even longer in hopes of something good coming up last minute.

Also? Dear Orbitz, I have enough problems without you thinking Cardiff hotels are somehow relevant WHEN I TYPE BRISTOL INTO YOUR SEARCH. THEY ARE NOT RELEVANT. EVEN TO ME. And seriously? That Marriott by the train station is 200 quid a night? You've got to be kidding.

Hm ... reserve something now with an eye towards canceling it if a wonderful deal comes up? Most hotels won't charge a cent so long as they get 24 hours notice ....

There was an orbitz-like website I had really good luck with when I had to find a room in London at the last minute. I keep wanting to say hotels.co.uk but I'm not sure. I'll look it up when I get home.

I aways use booking.com for everything hotel related (and didn't get any Cardiff hotels in my brief search for Bristol hotels just now) but no idea what dates it was you were going or how availabilities there pan out and prices seem to be steep enough (so are Cardiff hotel prices, I was surprised to note)
