Patty and her awesome giant bug celebrity sunglasses.

I am wearing a dress.

Okay, this is weird lighting in a corner of our living room and after being out all day in the sweltering heat, so I'm a bit wilt-y. But I'm telling you, this dress is going to be awesome with a pair of fabulous red heels when I'm awake, awesome, and not sweating. Yes, this is a dress I am bringing to Dragon*Con since it's not cosplaying but when I'm all whining and wishing I was cosplaying in my head I can be Jack in drag, thanks. MY ISSUES, LET ME SHOW YOU THEM.

May I also agree that Patty is cute? :-)

And have you ever wondered how you'd look in a kilt? Maybe a UtiliKilt!

I totally want a fucking utilikilt. I haven't looked into it in ages, but last I did there was no way to get one in my size.

http://www.altkilt.com/ is owned by a friend of mine, [livejournal.com profile] techdragon, and she will custom make you a kilt in any size and specs you'd like. Just make sure you give her actual tape measurements and not what size jeans you buy--they're vanity sized these days.

I just spent like 15 minutes looking at pictures of guys in kilts. This has made me happy. :D

My husband has one, although he hasn't worn it in a while. I may have to remind him of that 20% increase in adorableness that it offers...

May I just say that you make *anything* you wear look *awesome*.

Bleaugh. WHATEVS.

Good, then I won't feel bad not cosplaying.

Also, Atlanta is hot. Hot hot hot hot. And all my cosplay stuff is really NOT for that climate.

That's an adorable dress, well-suited to the horrible heat, and I love the red belt plus fabulous red heels. (I recently spent several months looking for fabulous red T-straps, and gave up and settled for slingbacks, to wear with my fabulous blue seersucker summer suit.) The hair roses are also fab. I wonder if a tiny hair rose would work with my suit...

When you post "I am wearing a dress", in my head I hear it in the same voice as Isaiah Mustafa used when saying "I'm on a horse" in the Old Spice commercials. LOL

And if you don't mind my saying, you and Patty are BOTH cute... dresses or not. :-)

I had to read that three times to figure out that you weren't talking about James Earl Jones and wondering where the name Isaiah came from before I realized that wasn't Mufasa you typed out.

And! SPIKE'S [] IS NOW DIAMONDS.

Thank you. I aim to please. *Bows*

I think you need to get video of you at D*C, looking at the camera, hands on hips, saying "I'm in a dress!", followed by the Old Spice theme. ;-P

I like that dress though; it is the pretty, and the fact that you will be wearing it and I HIGHLY doubt my friends and their turds the people they are going with are going to go to any panels pisses me off even more that I can't go to D*C. (I suppose in theory I could go, but it's the weekend of my mother's birthday anyway, and I have no one else to go with and do poorly in crowds alone and I'm going to actively stop bitching now.)

I have a similar dress I've worn to cons, and it's always drawn a number of compliments. You both look lovely.

Just wish I could make it to D*C this year - it would have been great to meet you!

I am going to D*C this year, although as an author's flunky, not a guest. The AltHist track encourages the guests to dress appropriately. (I'm on the London: Myth and History panel) The writer's track, is alas, less interested in such.

Oh gorgeous pictures!

I can be Jack in drag, thanks.
I put him in drag in one of my fics. Twas brilliant. :) ETA: Oh, and then he took Buffy to a gay karaoke bar and serenaded the room with 'I Am What I Am'. I SWEAR this is canon-compatible with both shows. (Can't explain how yet. Spoilers.)

Oh! That's what that dress brings to mind! I've look at you in it, it kept pinging something else, and I just realized that you look like you're cosplaying Lucille Ball as depicted in a collectible doll my Mom (a massive LB fan) has. Sure, not exactly the same design, but it's the color and the dots, and the white flowers in your hair are like the white bow in Lucy's.

When I was in male phase but wearing dresses I was feeling like I'm the character I used to role=play then, wearing drag. It felt much better than 'I'm a man in a girl's body' :)

From: [identity profile] rm.livejournal.com
Yeah, I find the internal intentionality of saying "this is drag" is way better than "this is supposed to feel okay and it doesn't." I am glad I am not alone in this.
