Ages ago I said to Patty that I have AMAZING hotel luck, and if for some weird reason I could find us completely cheap room for the St. Davids while I'm in Cardiff to visit her, that I was just going to book the hell out of it and it would be awesome regardless of her having a flat there.

Yeah, guess who just found us a completely cheap room at the St. David's?

So have any of you actually stayed there or have we all just chucked it into our Torchwood fic a bazillion times? Anyway, I hate to plan this far ahead, but on the other hand, this number is ridiculous.

I stayed in one of the corner suites at the St.David's when I went to Cardiff last year. My best friend and her husband had the adjoining corner suite. The floor to ceiling windows are every bit as cool as they appear, and plenty of curtains for privacy when you wish. Gorgeous views. She looked towards Mermaid Quay, and I looked out at the Bay and the wetlands.

The major downfall of the hotel: No wireless internet. Internet access was through a desk port only, and the desk faced away from the windows. Bummer. Would have loved to take my laptop out on the balcony.

I'm the friend mentioned above. I was very, very happy with our stay. The view was just amazing! We looked, and I think we were staying directly a floor above where Owen's flat was filmed. It was just so cool to see the Millennium Center, the water tower, the bay everything at all different times. The room was very comfortable and extremely nicely decorated.

We ate at the hotel restaurant for breakfast. It had a lot of variety and was very good.

The lack of wireless internet did drive me insane! Another thing I would warn about is that parking fills up in their lot quickly.

But the service was great. Everyone there was extremely nice. We had a great stay.

Ah, we don't drive, and my partner will actually be living in Cardiff for the semester. I'm hopping over to visit, so we'll be walking from her flat over there probably. The whole plan is to do pretty much nothing but indulge for the stay.

And I hadn't realized that's where they filmed that!
