Patty update: has seen one place she liked, is seeing another today, a third fell through, all this should be resolved today or tomorrow. Patty assures me neither of them are in Splott (actually I am helping her make a decision right now). Meanwhile, it's cold and Cardiff has a cheese festival today at the Castle.
Dances of Vice: I missed Isengart's first set because a friend accidentally knocked two drinks onto my White Silk Gown that Marci was somehow able to save. Also we had the worst service at L'Express in EVER. Photos when I have them.
I'm up earlier than I want to be because no matter how tired I am my body won't let me sleep past 10am anymore. That's okay, there's some work chaos going on on one front, and some work stuff I need to do on another, and I need to go over to Marci's at four so we can alter my dress (which means I need to buy shoes first). Also, I NEED a haircut. Oh god. Transportation, Communication, Accomodation and Hair: someone is failing and it is me.
Cat sitter for my long trip resolved. Turns out I've found the best solution with the cats (keeping them in the apartment with someone living with them), saved myself money AND helped out a friend. So yay.
I managed to miss you entirely last night, but the service at L'Express was uniformly awful for all of us, it seems. Looking forward to your pictures. Are you going to the tango event, or will you be traveling by then?
I already commented over there, but re: the 20 minutes link. I am utterly dismayed by how similar that device looks to my hearing aids. I do not want some random cop taking away my ability to hear just because I happen to be in the vicinity of a protest they don't like.
Well, could just wing it for your birthday. Ask some friends to get together for dinner or lunch and just see what is happening that day Got an equal chance of having a good day.
I was pleased to see the ETA to that post, because I was just about to be like, uh, hi, I'm a straight girl and I've totally been on the other end of homophobia.
birthday: you could plan a small something, just to mark the day?
CARDIFF is having a CHEESE festival at the CASTLE sounds like a page from a Welsh children's book, doesn't it?
The courts getting sick of the government's delays and general cowardice and just throwing stuff out is pretty much how same-sex marriage happened in Canada. Nice to see it finally happening in the States.
I'm terrible for lurking, but I try to limit myself to only comment when I have something interesting to add (hopefully this counts). I'd forgotten about the Cheese Festival until I read this post but I thought you'd like to know it's got its own website http://www.greatbritishcheesefestival.co.uk/

OFF TOPIC:just in case you hadn't seen this.
