I didn't make it to vigil either, but several people I know did. A few of my classmates were the one who organized it in conjunction with the lgbt office at NYU. Apparently the whole thing came together in just four days thanks to a massive outpouring of support. I am told there were glowsticks and the whole thing was very moving and the mayor turned out to make some very big promises about lgbt bullying.
