sundries

  • I am here in CH after a trip that was arguably more grueling than my journey to Australia. I did not arrive in the town where our office is until almost 7, and then had to run immediately to the grocery store if I wanted to be able to eat tonight. Because CH is expensive and challenging for a celiac, and because I'm tired, right now that amounts to rice with olive and sesame oil, sweet pepper sauce and some black pepper. It's warm. It will do.

  • My Internet situation is extremely spotty right now, and while it's better than it was a few hours ago, I am not sure I'll be able to improve much upon this. Which is to say there may be a lack of sundries links that require me to read the rest of the Internet or your LJ's -- at least until I get this straightened out.

  • Right now that means you're missing links to the Hiccup Girl being accused of murder; a variety of interesting thoughts on the NPR guy who got fired for talking about his fear of Muslims (including the completely awesome Muslims Wearing Things which you should all Google and find immediately;, and the end of the Walkman. I would also link you to the completely awesome Daily Mail song, since I read that today on the plane to Zurich, but again, not so much with the Internet. I am only able to do this through an LJ client.

  • There is no TV here and I will have to content myself with the media on my harddrive and the couple of films I brought as this connection is not going to support any sort of download.

  • That said, several exciting things happened while I was in transit. First, Dogboy & Justine received $350 in donations, which is thrilling. There's still time in other zones for us to break 2K for the grand total today.

  • Additionally, [livejournal.com profile] mithrigil put up the first of Music Mondays, wherein she discusses just what type of music goes with a dominatrix or two (three, four, or more!). I hope you'll check it out. I'm very "meet the whole team!" and right now that's us, but eventually we'll be posting (on the official site) chats with the actors we get involved and the like too.

  • I'm going to do a lot of writing here. After all, all things are possible.

Mmm..for your next trip, if I recall correctly, there's a Migros at Zürich Flughafen -- you should be able to get stuff there when you arrive (of course, you'll have to schlep it all the way to $SWISS_TOWN, but it beats not eating)

There is a Migros (and a Coop) where I am, but it has a crap selection, only one type of gluten-free bread. My first free day I am going to take the train into Zurich where I know there is one that has gluten-free croissants.

In case anyone reads the comments before googling: Muslims Wearing Things (http://muslimswearingthings.tumblr.com/).

Hey, I just made a D&J pledge, but then realized there might be a problem as the card on my Amazon account expires next month. I'm sure Amazon and Kickstarter between them will help me get it straightened out when the time comes, but feel free to contact me directly about it if need be.
