Patty report
Feb. 11th, 2011 10:42 am- No more snakes.
- It was a girl named Juhti not Judy. Oh my hearing and intercontinental calls. Sorry!
- The wild puppy died. *sadface*
- She had to go do object registration, so we're going to try again for a more than ten minute call tomorrow.

Date: 2011-02-11 04:52 pm (UTC)Ob-fret: Has Patty had a rabies vaccination along with her no-doubt enormous panoply of vaccinations? Because the endemic rabies rate in India is huge, and thousands of people die annually from rabies there -- and the main vector is feral/wild dogs.

Date: 2011-02-11 05:17 pm (UTC)I am, I admit, kind of a rabies geek, if there can be such a thing. It's morbid, I know, but.
If she has previously had a rabies vaccination, she wouldn't need one for this trip. The vaccinations hang around for a while. There was a case a few years ago where someone with rabies died of something else (a stroke, I think) and donated zir organs; the people who got the kidneys died, but the person who got the liver never developed the disease, and vaguely sort of recalled getting rabies prophylaxis 20+ years earlier.
(I'm sorry to hear about the puppy, though. :( )
