one last thought on Troy
May. 20th, 2004 08:40 amOne of the many things the over-eager and bizarre Troy script tries to do is talk to us about man's quest for fame, versus contentment. An interesting idea, and one with some current relevance (funny how fame used to be about existing beyond death, and in our media-hyper culture has become about existing at all), but the heavy handedness with which it's presented (line after line of "then you will never be remembered" which was the script at its most poetic, which is saying a lot and nothing good) is just agonizing. Feh.
