Completely exhausting day, but this is why we do what we do.

The show is fantastic and I'll be posting details about our previews, opening and fundraising parties soon. Really, great cast, great concept, innovative staging and my artistic influences of choice. I couldn't ask for more from this production. I do have to clean up all my blocking notes before bed though.

Great classes tonight too, although I've a ton of stuff to prepare for the next two weeks and a fourteen-hour day is something I'm a bit out of practice with. That said, I don't think I ever will be again.
This is going to get boring if I tell you every day how bloody fantastic this show is, but it really is. Today was almost entirely choreography for the ball scene, and it's just fantastic -- dramatic and funny and energetic and edgy and it's really a lot for us to be moving through at the speed we are.

Production meeting tomorrow night after rehearsal.

My scene partner for school is coming over soon (we're doing something from Death and the Maiden), and after that it's another evening of cleaning up blocking and choreography notes, getting some stuff organized for both PR and Costuming and then absorbing everything I can in terms of influences that are at work on this thing, which let me tell you, is no hardship.

That said, note to self, next time I have the opportunity to ask someone whose work I admire one of those "I'm starting out in the theater, give me advice" questions, which is something I don't tend to do (I say hello, I compliment their tie, I get out of the way), I think the burning question is, "how do you manage exhaustion? how do you keep your body capable of keeping up with your mind, your creativity and the level and volume of work it demands."

My next day off is at least three weeks away.
