Top Court in Massachusetts Says State Can't Deny Gays the Right to Marry

Get ready for the backlash. This is not going to be pretty. At all. In fact, the contortions we're about to go through as a nation (when I'd really like someone to be fixing the goddamn economy please) are going to be astounding. This will launch a serious drive for a constitutional ammendment, and do totally weird things to the presidential race. Like I needed to be more frustrated with either American politics or livejournal. I have a feeling both are going to make me cringe a lot in light of this, which isn't to say I'm not thrilled by this critical step in the right direction, but I spent my freshman year of college at Act Up protests and sitting in emergency rooms with friends who got bashed, so I'm wary, and I wonder how ready people are for how ugly this is going to get.
I can't find my cell phone.

I'm buying my ticket to Austin today.

I have to sing in public tonight and don't know the words to any of the three likely song candidiates, which range from -- "I can fake this with attitude if I don't panic" (Cheek to Cheek) to "This song is really emotional for me and I did at least work on it in voice some" (I Know Him So Well) to "This _really_ is a stretch for my voice, albeit a reasonable one. It's also very issuey in a dorky personal sort of way and is both the most likely to make me kick some butt, or turn into a mumbling ball of embarassment" (Come What May). Also, am on the rag, which means the higher end of my range is a bit iffy right now.

A photo shoot got rescheduled.

There's a friends birthday tonight, a baby on the way in another country, and another friend making a huge fresh start.

And it all seems disturbingly interconnected.
