The children's toy tournament is over. Yay. What a weird exhausting thing. It was call Bey Blades and I suppose some of you with kids or a really excessive interest in anime type stuff might know what it was. For those of you that remember lame 70s toys like myself -- think of it as really tricked out Battling Tops. Anyway, the kids take it insanely seriously, the parents are crazy and it's product tie-in central -- video games, TV shows, card game, spinning top game, accessories from here to eternity, etc. And, as is the way of all such things -- I totally ran into someone from an acting class there. I tried to hide. I failed.

I'm in a net cafe now, until I have to go to Williamsburgh in a bit. Really, I just kinda want to be home and dealing with things like dishes and cleaning and all, because as much as I say this and never do this, I am having a need for order, in a way that feels suspiciously like that swing I take periodicly towards acetism, but that I am reasonably sure won't actually go there this time. Which is to say, order can actually have a purpose other than itself, which is an entirely new idea for me.

I'm really annoyed that the Battlestar Galatica miniseries starts the same day I leave for Texas. Sci-Fi better rerun it. I also just realized Texas is in like two weeks, so that's bizarre too.

I'm trying to come up with more news and ideas, but am failing. Want nap, want nap want nap. Oh and for those of you who didn't listen to the audioblog post -- Mr. Nice Security Person at the Intrepid did a very careful and thorough examination of the tampons in my bag, because he'd never seen a box like the tampon box I had and needed to make sure they were really tampons. I'm not easily embarassed, but how 'bout I stick a tampon in your ear and if it soaks up your obviously mushy brain you let me on the damn boat?

This is a lovely bit of reading. Who knew Karl Lagerfield was so interesting. The interview borders on circuitous and frustrating, but is sort of interesting for that very trait. The stuff about his mom is really interesting, it's quite a glimpse of something or other.
Starbuck is a girl?!?!?!?!!?!?

I don't think I'm okay with this.
I know I should be.
But I'm not.

On the other hand, at least they've finally cleared up that pesky "was Baltar getting it on with the Cylons?" issue. Of course, we now have a Cylon played by a Victoria's Secret model....
