Time to go holiday shopping now.
Which mostly means a huge order at Australian Homemade, a stop at the wine shop, maybe a pop down to Dean and Delucca, just because it makes me happy and possibly a trip to Best Buy.

Mostly, I am trying to decide if I should get a DVD player for my parents.

My dad has been talking about getting one for months, but never does.
My mother always says she is too tired to watch films when she gets home.
The subtitle feature on DVDs would mean my dad could watch movies without driving my mother crazy (his hearing is poor).
The chapter feature on DVDs would give my mom more freedom to watch DVDs at her pace.
Film is important to me, in part because I was taken to lots of film, and lots of great film as a child (The New York Film Festival, lots of indie pics, movies when they still showed them at Radio City, Gandhi on the big screen, etc).

But I just can't decide if this is me trying too hard to find some common ground with my family, or me buying them something they would enjoy and use, but feel intimidated to deal with themselves.
Also, because the postal regulations aren't actually written in English -- can I, or can I not ship chocolates and/or home baked goods that will not spoil in transit to England?
Normally, I enjoy holiday shopping. Normally, I don't wait until the last minute either.

Parents got a DVD player. And I bought out the last of the chocolate at Australian Homemade, but not before buying an adorable pair of knock-offs of the shoes I really really want (I tried them on, most comfortable shoes EVER).

Also ran into someone from Miss Milligan's. That's always weird. I dunno how to have the actor "what we're doing not but not really having a competative conversation" conversation yet.

Exhausted. Just... where did the oxygen go?

Also bought a top to wear while working coatcheck that just says give me lots of tips because I am so cute and hot. It's a black bustier with a big ridiculous pink ribbon lacing it up. Yeah, clearly I'm harboring multiple insanities today.

And my shoes? So great. Love my shoes. Shoes shoes shoes.

And, I just scored a $25 gift certificate to a reastaurant I love and haven't been to in years on Ebay -- for about $5. Check out the Restaurant.com seller. Some of them have lame restrictions, so you have to be careful, but there are some great deals.
[livejournal.com profile] ludimagist has revived the interview meme.

The Rules: You comment on this entry requesting an interview. I respond with five questions. The questions will theoretically be tailored to you based on what I know of you (or want to know). You copy and paste those questions into your own journal, and write the answers, along with these rules. Anyone wanting an interview from you continues the game by requesting an interview from you.
