Guy tries to kill girlfriend when he learns she's voting for Kerry.

The most upsetting part of the article for me? Where it explains that she had been considering voting for bush to appease her boyfriend.

PEOPLE: Your vote is private. Better you vote for who your conscience tells you tie and lie to those around you, then doing something to make someone abusive and controlling happy.

This upsets me so much.

Well, presuming they let me in to the program, I'll be in Australia from 3 January until 23 January.

I've had a really stressful day and I'm sort of freaking out.

Going to a costume party tonight and am trying to get dressed.

My costume? Really funny, but 8 billion times more difficult to dress in and move around in than I could have possibly anticipated. Between the cut of the jacket, the neckcloth and my hair, I can't actually really move my head.

That said, it works. It so works, perhaps largely because of the expression of vague misery on my face. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to curl my hair tonight, but so it goes. Really, no one will get it other than my poor friends and the lot of you all anyway.

I didn't realize I still had it in me to look like a seventeen-year-old boy. So taking pictures.

So have to find a coat to hide under to get to this thing. Because like I live on Avenue C, and whatever it has to offer tonight is probably beyond my ability to face.

P.S. -- these are the most unflattering pair of pants I have ever worn in my entire life.
