Mar. 27th, 2005 03:50 amKat and I went to Crobar for this whole Utopia Parkway Harry Potter theme-night thing that the old MOTHER crew was doing.
Okay, other than the gogo dancers and maybe two people I recognized in the crowd, it was just all the crappy people who always go to Crobar with the sole purpose of proving that a) they get laid, at least when they're drunk and b) dance like the crappy white people who can't dance that you remember from like every prom/class reunion/family coming of age celebration you can ever remember.
Kat and I knew none of this going in, and so dressed up. Yup, Lucius and Snape. I mean, there was wig styling involved, that's all I'm saying.
Oddly, we had a really good time. I got very tipsy and we both laughed like idiots for a couple of hours before we finally left because the music was so loud it was making our eardrums hurt (they still itch).
As we were leaving, I noticed one of those photobooths -- so there is brilliant black and white film strip evidence of the whole thing. She's scanning it in tomorrow.
For something that was pretty much an unmitigated disaster we had a howling good time. And the gogo dancers, while often disturbing were just right on (including apathetic sullen hermione, baby dyke harry, and draco felating his wand).
Dude. Also, plot bunny central. But thank god I drank.
On the way home there was a taxicab on fire in the middle of 23rd Street, and it was setting the phone booths on fire near it.
