Looks like V for Vendettais going to make everyone as absolutely angry as it's supposed to.

This makes me really happy as it's a comic that's irrationally important to me (I was introduced to it by a boyfriend when I was 18, and while it will no draw lots of focus not for its musing on terrorism and politics, to me it was this revelatory thing about identity and performance and gender and sexuality, and I can only hope all of those weird little facets/backstory make the leap to the big screen).

Who wants to bet that there will either be lots of vivid and bizarre discouse on trying to get this film bannd and/or that the release date will keep getting pushed (it's set for Nov. 4) because of world events.

Have you ever noticed that the news reporters who report on farflung bombings (like the Egypt one) always seem to be Irish? I wonder if they're from Northern Ireland and are just used to things blowing up. I've been watching a lot of CNN lately.

I went to the bodega just now, after talking to Megan about the V for Vendetta tagline which will probably cause all sorts of drama, and they were playing Sunday Bloody Sunday, which made me think of it.
