We had the first rehearsal of my play last night in which I learned I am a very precise writer. Every word is there for a reasn, and just because it sounds like smalltalk doesn't mean it is. So it's an interesting challenge. It also makes me want to direct something that isn't mine, very very badly, but I can worry about that another day, or at least merely in the back of my mind for now.

I knew I had a thing about directors and what they do, from the standpoint of not being one. But I'm just as mentally turned on by doing it is what I discovered yesterday. Which is not a "I'm not who I think I am moment" but a "apparently I am who I sued to think I was" moment. If that makes sense.

Or something.

Meanwhile I need some acting work myself. Preferrably film. Directing and being in film gives me a the same charge I've noticed. Stage is different for me.

well, work is work

Doing three nights of background on some commercial or other Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Non-union, I know there are some union people on it so maybe _maybe_ I can get my third waiver. Mostly though it's money that I can rely upon to appear promptly.

Hopefully I'll be able to nap on set a lot and still have my days.
