You know, the New Orleans predictions are very surreal. Last night I kept shouting at the news, "and then frogs will fall from the sky," because they did sort of keep adding things to the list of the bad.

Now CNN tells us the fire ants are going to win?

koi!

Yesterday we went to the realyl eerie/beautiful/weird overgrown community garden in my neighborhood. Among other things, it has a koi pond. We watched the koi for a long time. Koi are weird. Sometimes they would jump out of the water, like doing tricks for crumbs we didn't have for them. One koi was all black, with just the slightest bit of _bright_ orange on it -- most of that orange was concentrated in the shape of a skull on its little koi head. We started calling it Death Eater Fish.

While we were there it rained. Also the Howl! Festival was going on, so sometimes people playing horns and other instruments in an Eastern European sort of way would run by in crazy costumes. It was lovely and surreal.
So i had this meeting for a thing at PS 122 last week, and was supposed to have another on Sunday. The guy called me Saturday night needing to reschedule for today, and while I returned the call, I never heard back or was able to get through again. Oh well. I'm also waiting on like 3 checks from acting gigs now, two of which should really be here already.

Meanwhile, I have an audition for an industrial tomorrow and the final rehearsal for my play.

ETA: Oh hey, the PS 122 peopel finally called.
