The Julie Taymor film, which has now been titled ACROSS THE UNIVERSE seems to be Velvet Goldmine about the Beatles instead of David Bowie. Before any of you squee, I think that means less gay (despite the fact that Eddie Izzard is apparently in teh thing), but most of yesterday was spent staring up at a lone (and imaginary) singer on a roof while these awesome crane shot was done. That part of the day was awesome. It's rare you get to do anything as background that feels like anything -- not in terms of it being work, but in terms of it having a discernable emotion to it. That said, I was on my feet in horrible shoes for about ten hours in the rain and most people, cast and crew alike, were getting pretty cranky by the end of it. Many many people had had calls well before dawn.

Law and Order today, I'm playing a cafeteria monitor, which is the height of humorous I think. My call isn't until 4, so I am going to work some first.

For those of you following along perhaps less closely, but are still interested, the new Decensus has finally arrived: http://www.livejournal.com/community/descensus_hp/2464.html

I am a logistical idiot.
So L&O only needed me for a few hours, which was actually awesome. Very easy.

I'm getting nervous about the dresses for the Assembly. They have to be done soon. I figure tomorrow evening I can cut the bodice (the biggest issue) for Kali's and begin construction of it and have enough of it done to turn over to her by the weekend. If I can have my own cut, and enough of it constructure to start carrying with me to work on on the subway by the end of the weekend, all should be well. I think I can figure out what's going on, and am only really worried at all about joining the bodice to the rest of the dress because there's this drawstring thing I don't understand in the directions. As long as I start working on these and just work on them nightly all should be well. Also if I take out my sewing machine as opposed to doing it by hand that will speed many things. I mean, I did this on a tighter timeline, which a much more irritable fabric last year. It _will_ be okay, and I worry only because I have another person relying on me and we're both so into our dorky color scheme thing. Serenity now, serenity now. I have a hair over three weeks, last year I did mine in two and the reality is that with a machine, it's a one day project if you define one day as 12 - 14 hours. And fuck French seams.

I also got my period, _thank god_, which is a wonderful aid in helping me understand _why_ I feel insane, and more importantly, encouraging me to ignore that fact.
