I just checked the measurements I took at the apartment against my stuff.

The bed, and my desk and my clothes chest and the apothocary chest will all fit in my bedroom. Possibly even the weird narrow bookcase I use for my occult books, although that wasn't one of the things that was making me nuts. The objects that matter to me as in my little corner of the world will in fact fit in my little corner of the world. I'm still trying to figure out how to hang my glass star latern thing in the new place. I think I'll ve to buy something odd to screw into the wall, which is all fine, but that and the key plaques are sort of the other musts in terms of objects I'm weirdly attached to (well, and my Velvet Goldmine poster, but that just goves over the nesk, total no brainer).

I wish I were a bit farther ahead with packing, but I have to be uptown early tomorrow and would rather be sleep deprived for schlepping instead of packing, so it's off to bed. At this point, I probably have more to throw out than to pack, which is waaaaaaaaaay not a bad thing.

And I still love my stupid new bathrobe.

On the procrastination front (I mean, other than the obvious existence of this post): http://www.nasubionna.net/hp/marauders/inkprank.html is just adorable. Perfectly gen HP stuff for those that do or don't care.
After being essentially unable to sleep last night today I got up really early to go uptown so the security gates could be installed.

The security gates did not fit -- we're getting them Monday.

On the plus side, the phone company ambled in while I was waiting and set that up -- a whole week earlier than we were expecting them. And I got the cat stuff set up as well. Having spent the bulk of the last two days up there, I'm getting comfortable, this is good. The people in my head _love_ the new bathtub, which is more than a little surreal, as it's a strange little bathtub, but it's set into the wall in a really cool way. I don't know. I just don't.

And now, more packing.

If anyone who is helping tomorrow has a drill, could you bring it so I can hang my curtains? Please please please. Thanks.
There was a point where I was considering very seriously dumping A Certain Education (the smutiest HP fic I've ever written) into its own original universe and turning it into a novel. Bizarre, on the surface, I realize, but that story always had acres of backstory in it that I hadn't written to such an extent that it was easy to create a new universe for it. I just found the notes for it, and that seems moderately exciting/interesting again. Hello whole new fucking vantage point.

ex-things, but there are always ex things when moving.

The original handwritten drafts of the final letters in the incomplete Ghosts/Unfinished Games arc. Sooooooooo sad.

All right, back to the throwing out all the crap ever.
