What B-movie are you living in?

Mine is The Cat Ass that Ate Spanish Harlem.

Where is [livejournal.com profile] schpahky to comiserate?
I came about a milimeter from being slugged in the face as I went to my train platform this morning -- came around a corner, and some dude was swinging a punch at one of the 4 other dudes involved in some fight. I ran back up teh stairs, someone else told the station manager to call the cops, and the whole thing went on for a good ten minutes before I could get my subway and hadn't really quite ended when I nimbly darted for it.
Fetishizing the end times, reading and America:
http://onlinejournal.com/artman/publish/article_346.shtml

Basically, someone who was raised as a fundamentalist Christian talks about what the Left Behind books' sales numbers mean in an America that hates books.

This is not a friendly article, and while cogently argued and making pains not to attack Christianity but a very particular violent and death-obsessed streak in parts of American Christianity, it may well raise your hackles.
Despite a subway incident on teh way home that made me cry, the copies of Rattle with my accidental poem in it came, as did a decent check (less than the cat ass bill, but still) from a commercial I worked on 4 months ago.
