Jul. 21st, 2006 04:15 amEnchanted is over.
The Germans seem to have paid me something, judging by a late night visit to Chase. Things are tight, but I should be able to meet the current round of monthly bills without a hassle.
I have no idea what's going on out in the world because of the movie set vortex.
At one point, we were all sitting in the lobby of Steiner waiting to be called to set watching Inerview with a Vampire on the TV -- it was the scene where Louis and Armand almost kiss and don't. That plot in the books always made me sad, and it's one of the few moments in that god awful movie that work even if Armand is miscast and a half. Anyway, it was strange, sitting there on the floor in the dark at around midnight in a movie studio lobby in dead silence with a lot of other bored, tired, pissed-off extras in exrtavagent costumes thinking that in same ways I've done it all because of these particular imaginary people. No one was hushed during anything else we watched, so I thought, a lot of them were probably thinking the same thing too. Since one of the big topics amongst background on sets is the actual banality of their lives, it made me sad. I mean, don't get me wrong, my life can be banal too, but I think I do a pretty good job of raging against it effectively.
If I owe you email, I'll catch up after I've slept.
