clothing repair question

I have this fabulous brocade jacked that the elbow just sort of shredded out on. I don't actually know how to fix it. I just have to put a bloody patch on it don't I?

Short version: went to office; couldn't get into office; bought gluten-free mayo; came home

I just found out that someone I didn't know well at all really -- just in clubs and hadn't run into in years (but it's different with clubs -- it's like cousins you only see at funerals. They don't matter to your day to day life, but these people do matter to you nonetheless), so I didn't even know her real name, died in a stupid, ugly way. In a world where few people were both gracious and beautiful, I don't ever recall her being less than either. I hope she saw those things in herself more often than not.
