I got my yuletide challenge.

I've been feeling weird and sleeping a lot the last couple of days, and I don't think it's a celiac thing, just a life thing. Hence, I did not write AC articles last night (tonight?), but I did practice fencing. And wind up with another Swordspoint fragment on my harddrive as I wait for descensus_hp materials from Kali.

I am not sure I actually have anything to report, other than I am in that annoying state where I'm waiting on four checks (oddly, none of them from the Germans for a change!)

First Man in Rome is getting _really_ good but I'll probably have to break from it again (it's long and not a fast read) to get The Vintner's Luck read for themollyhouse. Luckily the book is divided in ways that makes for easy stopping points to temporarily switch gears. And I still have to order Fall of the Kings.

In yet other things I am obsessed with news, Luhrmann's new, as yet unnamed, Aussie epic seems like it's actually going to get made. He keeps giving interviews about the specific types of cattle they need to find for the film and the related "cattle calls" and actors everywhere groan.

Meanwhile, the social obligation I thought I had tonight is actually tomorrow night.

Little Fish

I just found out that the fantastic Little Fish is out on DVD and wanted to encourage you all to see it. It's an extraordinarily Australian film in that there are class and race issues in it in a way that just won't register to someone not familiar, but it's really really fantastic. It's about friends and heroin and family. Or I can just tell you that Sam Neil and Hugo Weaving kiss in it. I dunno. Great movie though, and all you Netflixers should add it to your queue.

coyotegoth who saw it with me can attest to its excellence. And schpahky I think you would particularly enjoy it -- it has a quality like your man's photos but of course the world it's about would be rather more alien for you.
