Basically, Japanese women are getting curvier due to a westernized diet. This is neither here nor there, but as someone who has worn and made (by hand) kimono over the years, and worn special pads at my waist in order to have the appropriately cyndrilical look, a part of me is sad and wonders what will happen to the traditional wearing of kimono if it's no longer appropriate to Japanese bodies and a growing sense of showing curves.

Someone pulled the emergency break on my train this morning, meaning, having just drank a full bottle of Gatorade I was trapped on the train and forced to listen to two Bear Sterns trainees get everything wrong about the bond market ever. When I looked up at the woman, who was making some vague sense, she looked at me not with eye-rolling annoyance at her companion, but with a sad and angry desperation -- she was flirting and I was not to reveal that this man was stupid, lest she get caught out for agreeing.

Meanwhile, tourist teenagers tried to reassure themselves that if we were all about to die at the hands of terrorists, "someone would be running through the cars screaming, right?"

I love SuperShuttle because they are cheap.
I just have to keep telling myself it's not their fault they are picking me up at 3:40 in the morning.
