I have just gotten _the_ most delightful postcard from Patty.

Also, hey, [livejournal.com profile] leopard_lady, other PR roommate, and myself at the Duelling Oaks courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] xray2000. I look way snazzier in that suit and feel way more taken with this photo than I could have anticipated.

My sleep cycle is starting to shift a little earlier, which is not a bad thing, but it has me doing yesterday's [livejournal.com profile] novel_in_90 chunk now. Maybe this can be a eally long one, or maybe I need to suck it up and say I missed a day. Hah.

The LJ Strikethrough drama continues you to piss me the fuck off. The CEo has now stated that uses have a "rational point" in wishing to see new policies before shelling out $150. Well thank you for that confirmation of my sanity, but I don't need 6A's validation of my higher reasoning powers, I need them to address my concerns as a long-time customer. I know we're all touchy now, but does anything the man says not sound condescending? To be frank, the whole thing makes me sad.

Today is June 20th. Almost halfway through Patty's being away, and I suspect the second half of this will be easier than the first since there are letters flowing now and I have lots of distractions from Vermont to the HP movie and book releases.
This is what I am doing tomorrow. If you live in NYC and I don't hate you, you should come too!

Weather permitting, I will even get out the Regency duds for it.

A Haunted Procession

This unusual, somewhat secret cemetery is rarely open, so come and see this serene, little-known NYC landmark and public historical space as it is hosted by a procession of ghostly sea banshees performing spooky, enchanting, operatic acoustic art-metal in a short (20 min) specter-laden spectacle. This picnic-parade will be a rare, haunting acoustic set by the normally outrageous quartet, but today we must be sonically gentle, as the delicate crumbling walls of the cemetery can't tolerate our typical metal decibels. Expect to witness something truly spectre-tacular and magical. This unique show will be like none we've ever done or will do again. Dress in ship's captain clothing or the antique lace threads of their mistresses and servants, like the ones buried there.

Accompanying us in our procession will also be a band of melodic banshees, classically trained string players and the dreamy mermaid murder-ballad singing sea shantress, the one and only Dame Darcy.

4:00p - get comfortable, pick a spot to lay your blanket, set up your picnic
4:30p - the musical parade/charade ensues
5:00p-8p - enjoy the calm serenity of the Marble Cemetary

Dogs welcome. B.Y.O: picnic, blanket, chair, hand-held fan, sun hat, snacks, some chairs will be available there for your use. Lemonade and light refreshments will be available for purchase, homemade and sold by 13-year-old Rachel Trachtenburg of Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Player fame!

Q&A Time

Jun. 20th, 2007 02:59 pm
Since I have lots of new people on my friends list thanks to a combination of Phoenix Rising and Strikethrough '07 (best friending meme, evar!), this is where you get to ask random questions and I'll answer them.

Um, also 'cause I'm bored.
There are some new updates on what happened and what is happening.

They reflect, I think, an improvement in the situation and clarity about it. But I still have concerns in part because someone has to attempt to be some sort of ombudsman here, and I've nominated myself apparently.

The latest on ToS and enforcement there of is here:
