I've never been to City Island, but I've now become completely obsessed with dining here: http://www.lerefugeinn.com/
It's a little weird getting mail from Paramount Studios, but my countersigned contract showed up today, which means a) I can go get myself on IMDB now and b) the check is processing if not already in the mail.

So last night I went to the wizard rock gig out at the beer garden in Astoria. Our gorup missed some of Draco and the Malfoys, which is a shame, but I still got to hear them do 99 Death Eaters (tune of 99 Luft Balloons) that just stabs me in my junior high heart every time. Because I don't like crowds and all of us were tired we sat at a picnic table, and watched everyone pressed up against each other and jumping up and down in front of the stage, and it was nice, just to observe it.

Then it was Harry and the Potters, who I'm less into, because they can be very "and now the Ramones save the world" which is like 8 types of not my thing, but they do give good show, and at the end they had a whole bunch of people join them on stage so that they had a horn section, and that seemed sort of giddy and fantastic.

Well, except for the people next to us at the table who had just wanted to come to the beer garden and found all of us there instead.

"Harry Potter isn't real!" they kept saying with great anger.

Well, sure. What's that got to do with who in this space is having fun and who isn't?

Then it was off to Rose's Turn, since it's closing on Sunday. It was often cathartic and also SO SAD. I mean, SO SAD. But Michael Dionne sang "Feeling Good" which was so the perfect song for everything, and I got to see lots of people I haven't seen in ages, and I stayed long past when exhaustion had claimed me.

As for tonight? I range between excited, sad, giddy, bored and tired. And relieved. Maybe that more than anything.
