- Okay, the book really hasn't been pushed up. Still November 28. They getting the Amazon.com and South African online bookstore to fix it now. Which means I still get my galleys. Also, they are trying to get me a cover quote from Draco & the Malfoys.

- Apparently, the way surgery works is they call my mom the afternoon before to tell her when surgery is. So then she'll cal me, and she wants me to go sit with my father at the hospital during that. It may be as early as 5am. She decided against reconstruction and it should all take about 2 - 2.5 hours. If it's in the morning, I've already explained to her and she's agreed that I'm going to _need_ to go to fencing that night.

- Patty and I have gleefully reached the end of the hell part of our week. Tonight: barn dance!

- I am now only buying the catfood sealed in plastic bags because the last two box puchases of different types from different stores contained bugs. I'm very irritated.

- I have come to a conclusion from browsing titles on Raleigh at Amazon and B&N -- everyone who has ever written about him is either a completely insane wanker (not in a charming way) or is writing for fifth graders.

-- I am wearing BPAL's Les Infortunes today. Why don't I remember to wear BPAL every day? Ahhhh.
The problem, of course, is always with the adjectives and labels, but that's a lovely luxury that I've not honestly had in every facet of my life until the last year or two.

I use queer, gay, lesbian and bisexual for myself pretty interchangeably, although "big ol' lesbian" has been hilariously popular in conversation lately.

I also identify as genderqueer, which is an essay and a half, but in short, my living life as a boy here (*touches sternum*) doesn't make me less of a woman, anymore than my having a cunt makes me less of a man. Use any pronouns you want for me, as long as you don't use them derisively, but I do really loathe that "hir" stuff because I'm uptight about English.

And I can't be out without being out about just how bloody fictional my life is.

I'm my own creature, my own species. It makes sense to me, with any luck, one day it'll make sense to other people too.

That's it. Not news.
