- Doing last minute stuff to get ready for Dragon*Con.

- Someone I know (who may wish to remain nameless) is now the owner of Tardis pasties. I can't even process that. Can you?

- I love picking up my shirts at the dry cleaners. I think it's a holdover from when I was a kid going with my mom to get my father's, but there's nothing so nice as an orderly row of crisp shirts. That mine come with geeky secrets only makes it better.

- I have many random, petty wishes for Dragon*Con. Near the top of the list? I get to dance my ass of to Voodoo Child at the BritTrack party. Because really? That would be even more funny and awesome than when they played All These Things That I've Done at the Terminus ball.

- Patty's gonna hold my hand when the plane takes off!

- Fencing last night. Good. More later.

- I have to write a bunch of commercial scripts tonight. It's my D*C mad money. More than that? If I'm going to keep doing these, I really need to buy a stopwatch.

- Found an error on a previous check from Germans. Extra cash coming in next week's check. It will buy bookcases.

- As of today, in one year, I will be debt free.

- I'm writing an article on "Dating After Coming Out" and I apparently have to provide sources for my advice so they can be fact-checked. Because only the opinions of other queer people count. Or something. I'm a bit irritable about it.

- You will have the next piece of I Had No Idea I Had Been Traveling before the TW radio play, but not before D*C. It's terribly sweet. And sort of manic and funny. And I've just found the excuse in it for more weird crap about Jack's early education and adventures.

- Things to regret: trying to explain the Browncoat Shindig to my mom.

- Finally had batteries put in my good watch, so there will be no more bitching about that from my mom or people wondering why I'm not wearing a watch in any of my Jack photos (love you guys, really). Since my life has been what it is and my mom works there, I'm largely very inured to the Tiffany & Co. thing, but wow, the customer service experience is weird, even for me. Extraordinarily solicitous, with men in nice suits pulling out out your chair for you and offering you coffee while you gaze out at the roof of the Plaza through gauze curtains while waiting to meet with someone in a little private area, all to get a bloody watch battery changed. That's the life, folks.

- Are you on my friends list? Are you trying to learn Welsh? Why? Seriously, this amuses me to no end, because I think there are at least a dozen of you, and _weirder than that_ is I think you all have entirely different reasons for it ranging from fannish to academic, and it cracks me up (I'm also not immune, I tried once, like five years ago and am dutifully NOT succumbing this time).

- Wow, I just had to do media analysis on an article about Svalbard.

- [livejournal.com profile] melebeth just introduced me to this band and I am downloading the album tonight, because it's just great for some many of my obsessions. Go to their CDBaby page to be able to listen to abotu half of each of their songs. Really phenomenal stuff for those who like this sort of thing (think of it as an American version of the Pogues).
