I am still too tired from the travails of travel to do anything useful like respond to real emails or anything like that, but briefly:

- Patty and I exchanged gifts, which was awesome.

- We opened the holiday cards that we were sent, that were shockingly moving in some cases.

- Chatauqua Airlines is awesome, and I will never mock the little Embraer jet again. Greatest flight ever. Ever ever. My ears didn't pop AT ALL, and it was a totally cool plane because I could feel and understand what was going on pretty much all the time. Also, amazing blind landing in the fog bank from hell. Made me really sad my vision is not good enough for me to ever fly a jet.

- Her mom got us massages yesterday, from which I still feel a bit braindead and stupid. That's a good thing.

- Having dinner tonight with friends of Patty's.

- Patty and I lay around last night, watched Firefly and looked at the Cunard website for a really long time.

- I bought a cool stripey shirt.

- My cat sitter was successfully able to get into our house where all is reportedly well (our keys can be wacky, so I worry).

- Still need to get a memory card for camera.

- This is so different from last year, because both Patty and I are more comfortable with the idea of me being here and being with her parents.

- So yeah, we're doing our holiday cards now.

- It's going to be 65 here today.

- This Yuletide fic: http://yuletidetreasure.org/archive/72/tensephirot.html
Yes, it's RPF.
Yes, it's political RPF.
Yes, you're going to feel like you're going to hell.
BUT, it's the most amazing examination of how ambition makes people's inner narratives batshit insane and it's astoundingly written. So you should read it.

- I have a good draft of the Australia essay, though it is currently 62 words too long.
