sundries

1. I have to go over and watch my dad today while my mom is at work. This is irksome, especially since tomorrow both of us have to work, and when I asked my father if he was comfortable with a home health aid sort of thing, he said "I'm comfortable being alone." That said, people are being marginally more rational; it seems it was a kidney stone that passed; my mother has a plan (sort of), and I may not lose my mind this week.

2. So David Tennant went back into Hamlet last night. Really? Epic narrative much? Wow.

3. I really want to eek a second and a half out of my day to get my hair cut today I think, but that seems unlikely to happen, especially as I have no printed out reference pics for the hair person (again, bless you Rachel Maddow for being a girl and having the same stupid haircut I want for other reasons).

4. I have made a command decision about my chick-lit novel. Fuck it. Geeks own the world now and I should write what I know. Which is so say the wacky worlds of fandom, public relations, and media. Duh. My projects only never work when I try to sanitize them of the batshit. I'm just going to run with this thing. All those horrible years in PR have to be worth something, and PR seems to be a career staple of chick-lit books anyway.

5. 8 million years ago, Patty, Kali, Edie and I went to the Regency Ball and took some insane photos, which I finally downloaded and will process and post tonight or tomorrow.

6. New phone has video mail. Seriously awesome for sending to Patty.
