Interstitial Arts Foundation Auction
May. 3rd, 2009 11:46 amI don't actually do that much original work that's interstitial in nature (cyberpunk-humour-cthulhu story aside), but I'm a big fan of the idea and the mode of thinking, and it's probably just a matter of time until I do play in that way, as I've often done weird genre/medium-bending stuff in fanfic.
ANYWAY, there's this organization called The Interstitial Arts Foundation which a whole lot of people I know to varying degrees are involved with in a variety of ways. The IAF's function? to promote interstitial work. Among other things they've already published one anthology of interstitial stories (Interfictions) and another is on the way.
Of course, as a non-profit, the IAF must raise money to do all this awesome stuff and bring these unique stories and events to us. So they're having an auction, which right now is in the call to artists phase.
Have you ever loved a story so much you wanted an object of it? A charm or worry to hold in your hand, a bracelet to keep your bones from flying apart? Yeah, the IAF gets that. If you're a creator, check out of the call for artists. If you're a consumer, check out the whole idea and get excited for when it goes live.
This is cool stuff.
