I don't actually do that much original work that's interstitial in nature (cyberpunk-humour-cthulhu story aside), but I'm a big fan of the idea and the mode of thinking, and it's probably just a matter of time until I do play in that way, as I've often done weird genre/medium-bending stuff in fanfic.

ANYWAY, there's this organization called The Interstitial Arts Foundation which a whole lot of people I know to varying degrees are involved with in a variety of ways. The IAF's function? to promote interstitial work. Among other things they've already published one anthology of interstitial stories (Interfictions) and another is on the way.

Of course, as a non-profit, the IAF must raise money to do all this awesome stuff and bring these unique stories and events to us. So they're having an auction, which right now is in the call to artists phase.

Have you ever loved a story so much you wanted an object of it? A charm or worry to hold in your hand, a bracelet to keep your bones from flying apart? Yeah, the IAF gets that. If you're a creator, check out of the call for artists. If you're a consumer, check out the whole idea and get excited for when it goes live.

This is cool stuff.

  • I'm fucking sick, and I'm fucking cranky. Yes, I'm whiny because I felt too awful to go to dance, and I hate feeling completely physically non-fit or powerful. I am completely whiny and useless today. I am, however, better than I was a couple of days ago, and hope to feel like a normal person soon.

  • I finally had my delayed reaction to the fencing situation. I know I am doing the right things, but it all is sadness. But new adventures soon.

  • Doctor Who spoilers be here. And they make me SO HAPPY. This is ridiculously important to me because Read more... ).

  • Patty is dreamy. And I am dragging out of my sick bed to go look at paint chips and flowerpots later.

  • Trader Joe's creme brulee in chocolate pots. That doesn't even need a verb. Just... yeah.

  • Merlin! Could this show be slashier? It's slashier than Torchwood which has a canon gay relationship as a major plot point. Merlin's not even good, but it's so what the fuck, I can't stop watching. Sadly, my brief foray into fic indicates nothing that should surprise me, including the delusion that Merlin is a girl and the notion that 63 chapters with no plan for a conclusion is somehow a good idea.

  • If I could keep a thought in my head for more than 30 seconds, I'd write. But I can't.
