An incredibly short list at the request of a few people on Twitter.

First, I'll say that the share of awesome and decent stories on [livejournal.com profile] kurt_blaine is much better than in most fandoms I've been in. Also, it's about the NICEST fandom community I've ever run into. So you can go digging there without getting too frustrated.

[livejournal.com profile] wordplay is writing a series of loosely linked stories that are future!fic set in college (I didn't find hers until I'd already written two of mine -- hers are very different). You can read them all or you can just read the most recent one, which I kid you not is the hottest thing I have ever read in any fandom EVER. Although, it might also be hitting a particular nerve with me right now that will be obvious once you read it. HOTTEST THING EVER, PEOPLE. Also, story (and series) gets bonus points for avoiding heteronormativity and attempting to actually locate itself in gay culture.

[livejournal.com profile] sotto_voice wrote a Star Trek AU. I tried not to read it. I just thought it wouldn't work for me, or whatever, although I grew up on Trek like anyone and did sort of love the reboot movie. Okay. THIS IS PURE AWESOME. It also hit some personal buttons that are far too complicated and embarrassing to explain. Just trust me, there's this moment 20% of the way into the fic where I was like "Oh no you didn't!" If you're one of the people who's known me long enough to know why this made me laugh my ass off at myself, you're not allowed to share.

[livejournal.com profile] rayslady wrote some RPF. This is not the post where we discuss the moralty of RPF. If you don't like RPF, you really won't like this. It's also about a lot of people being really drunk a lot of the time, which may also be a squick. However, I think the very idea of Glee RPF is fascinating (think about it: fictional backstage stories about the real people/personas creating a fictional backstage story -- this is made even odder in the case of Glee once you factor "A Very Potter Musical" into the whole thing. It's just... MUST WRITE SERIOUSLY ON THIS SUBJECT) and complicated. This just masters the art of the run-on drunken thought in a way that made me very fond. Also makes me realize that the RPF I am the most all over is RPF about people connected to fiction that is in itself a backstage story. That might divulge on odd secret of mine, if so, keep it to yourself.

[livejournal.com profile] rachel_riot90 wrote us a fic centered on the fact that the Warblers have a lot of rules. Blaine and Kurt _finally_ getting together means they might need some new ones. Funny, and the voices are spot on.

[livejournal.com profile] lookninjas wrote an awesome piece about Burt trying to be a father figure to Blaine. She makes deductions it wouldn't have occurred to me to make, but that strike me as dead on. The voices are fantastic.

[livejournal.com profile] parsnips wrote a fic that actually takes us into the official relationship if it had happened in direct response to the disaster at the GAP. I can hear Kurt's every word in this perfectly. She also writes his body language really well. Blaine gets a fab speech too. I love this massively.

[livejournal.com profile] devonwood wrote some bondage porn. I've read a lot of bondage porn, and being a kinkster myself I tend to have a lot of opinions about bondage porn. This is perfectly acceptable bondage porn that's remarkable in that it reads pretty plausibly for these two pretty screwed up kids. But I'm actually rec'ing it for one fairly innocuous six word segment that's just the loveliest little moment to me. I'm not telling what it is, but I think it jumps off the page, and I think you'll see it too.

I have so much love for the Star Trek AU. I'm hopeful will continue to write in this verse. Not just about the adventures in space but I wanted to know more about the relationships and their dynamics. I wanted to know more about how they dealt with Kurt's affliction, how they worked through that. Like maybe a deleted scene about a fight they had.

I'm currently reading a dark one called Make believe by kurtoffskinator. It's Kurt/Karofsky and all kinds of dark and twisted (just like I like my fics). Dub-Con warning for those who are interested:http://kurtoffskinator.livejournal.com/515.html

When I got to the part about hiding his head in a pillow and listening to angry sounding Klingon music, I gave myself hiccups from laughing. It was just so right.

I might have squealed/screamed a bit in a challenging Kurt for the top of his range way. Not dignified.

Through one of these fics, I have learned the name for the color of my eyes - glasz, a celtic-french (bretagne) word for blue/green/grey.

!

I love words, and I feel that I have needed this word all my life.

Oh! My mom's eyes are that color, and I've always wondered what to call it. I'll have to tell her and see what she thinks.

I've seen very little of Glee, and I'm not in the fandom. But a long-time flister of mine, [livejournal.com profile] reremouse, has recently moved into writing Kurt/Blaine (after nothing but Spike/Xander for years.) I haven't read it and wouldn't be able to comment on voice/character if I did, but I highly recommend Rere as a good writer in general (clever, skilled, slyly amusing, and grammatically correct) if you're looking for more to check out. Fic in tags here.

You? Being in this Klaine fandom? It makes me 10 kinds of giddy.

And the fic by [livejournal.com profile] rachel_riot90 made me laugh so hard. I especially liked Jeff, because the actor who plays him likes to fuck with the fandom. Therefore, he purposely did things in scenes that he knew people would flail over. He's such a Blaine/Kurt shipper.

Wait, like what... this sounds hilarious!

And I am having the best goddamn time with this fandom. (And listening to Kurt and Mercedes singing "4 Minutes" on repeat right now).

Okay, in the scene where Blaine says he wants to do the duet with Kurt, keep your eyes on Riker (Jeff) in the back, he turns to the other boy with a "Is this really finally happening" look. And then when Wes asks them to vote on Kurt being Blaine's duet partner, Jeff is the first (and most eager) to raise his hand high in the sky.

He then does this "heh, see what I did there?" thing on twitter and tumblr after these episodes air. He's such a troll. But we all love him.

As long as you stay away from the ship wars (and oh my god, do we have them) - this fandom is epic. It's funny and goofy, with the occasional bit of seriousness. I think it's a decent reflection of the show itself.

(And that's one of my favorite songs with Kurt, aside from "Animal")

I have a not so secret fixation with the movie Drumline so this track is like made for me.

Also, what ship wars.... I mean, at least regards Kurt. Options limited. I do know that there's like this whole Blaine hate thing going on out there, but fuck that noise.

Oh god, I loved that movie, I have no shame.

Not everyone gets bent out of shape about the ships. But there are quite a few people who don't like the fact that Kurt and Blaine are happening right now. They're mostly Kurt/Sam (because Sam was originally brought on to be Kurt's boyfriend, I believe) and Kurt/Kurofsky.

In return, there's a lot of Blaine hate - about how he's not good for Kurt, and how he's made Kurt change into this meek, shell of what he used to be. That, and Darren's a crappy actor it seems. That's what I've gathered.

From: [identity profile] rm.livejournal.com
Kurt shows up at Dalton meet because he's fucked up from the Karofsky thing. Clearly, the meek shit is going away, we saw that in the last episode.

And I think Criss is fucking fantastic. He's exactly right for the fucking part. Not subtle, but woah, this show is not about naturalism. I've also noticed a bit of "evil elitist Dalton" and "Blaine's too perfect" in the little bit of crankiness I'm aware of, which was basically like saying to me, "here, this is the character you want to defend." And sure enough.....

Thre's a spoiler going around about Sam, but no one is sure if it's real. It's making me a little verklempt. But the Blaine/Kurt chemistry is so bright, I imagine they won't soap opera us on it for a little bit.

I'm hoping Murphy will let us enjoy this for a little bit before throwing us for a loop. We all know how he likes to treat the couples on this show. It would just be so refreshing to see a healthy relationship - not to say it would be perfect. But without the break-ups every other week and then getting back together.

At the beginning I could see why people would have looked at Blaine as this perfect character - but I think they've done a good job at giving us bits and pieces of his character since he's been around. Bits that show that he isn't perfect and there's much more to him than we know, and I hope we find out more (with Kurt by his side).

To be honest, I thought they were going in that direction with Sam in the first few episodes he was in. Lots of questions about him being gay - hell, when Quinn exclaimed that he was, he didn't even look her in the eye when he said he wasn't. I think they teetered over whether or not to go there with him. Then Blaine showed up and BAM - they couldn't ignore the chemistry between the two.

From: [identity profile] rm.livejournal.com
Yeah, it just works. When you get that you _have_ to write to it.

I think their relationship stressors are going to be necessarily different than those of the other couples, so I think it's going to be less of the breaking up and getting back together and more of the "is this just too hard?" and possible parent drama and prom drama and stuff like that.

A quick note of thanks for the Glee fic recs. I hadn't read any Glee fic before you posted your thing and then these links here--I missing out on the fun! And especially the goofiness with that awesome Warblers-and-their-rules story.

I'm so far behind on comments, but I wanted to really thank you for the rec - I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Commenting on the latest installment of your college!fic (omg love love loved it) is coming up - it's open in a tab - and I want to really dive into the meta you've posted in the last few days, but one thing at a time. *eternally behind*

I have just read through ALL of these.

Just so you know, you should feel like you're contributing to the delinquency of...er...someone who's supposed to be doing the heavy analytic lifting on his current capstone draft.

ETA: you've got an Allen Edmonds ad at the bottom of your page. LOL-ing forever.

Everyone who knows me IRL is kind of like "Glee? Really?!"

And I'm so amused by the confusion, because really there are so many things in my life that should have made it a foregone conclusion. On the other hand, I'm also the guy who will dodge a popular thing for years, and that gets misread as the wrong kind of elitism a lot.

Plus, the Scissorhands theory. SO.

I have about a BAZILLION more recs for you by the way, but right now am trying to finish my next story because Patty remembered that the remix deadline is TODAY. During our anniversary weekend! It's so good that we're both in fandom.

Also, you should just join [livejournal.com profile] kurt_blaine since I send you every other thing from there anyway.

I am laughing my ass off at both of you. With affection, of course. Heh.

And I will next week, since I'm (hopefully) going to regain enough equilibrium to pay attention to LJ and DW again. Just in time for summer, of course, which always fucks my whole schedule up, but still.
