sundries

- LJ is back and wow, it's like it's dead and doesn't know it yet.

- Totally backing up the Klaine and other fic to AO3 later.

- Talked to Patty earlier (5 DAYS) and then we got disconnected mid-call and couldn't get back with each other and now I am sad.

- Another bit of epic housecleaning today -- I am way too tired now, but have to do work.

- Behind on everything.

- I love everything about new Torchwood except for the palm trees.

I've heard two rumors about the DDoS problems with LJ:

1. DDoS is due to LJ's crackdown on the Russian-language pharmacy spammers who caused problems with LJ in March.

2. DDoS is due to Putin trying to jam the LJ postings of the Russian opposition.

So have I. The fact remains that LJ has enough problems without people having to choose to put up with it being unavailable 30% of the time because of unspecified Russian drama.

Exactly. The decrease of posting on LJ isn't helped by the drama in Russia. Much like what you've done, I started up a blog elsewhere, and I'll probably end up feeding its entries here. I'd like to hit my 10-year anniversary on LJ next January, but these outages and problems aren't helping my goal.

*growls at LJ* I never realize how dependent I am on this thing until I try to log in and it /won't let me/. So frustrating!

I am totally behind on everything also. Wooo. Including new TW; I know absolutely nothing.

Grrr.

Having lost all my photos (yeah, they're backed up but like I'm going to re-upload them) due to fotopic going bust this month, I really don't want to lose my journal too.

Backup time, and then mirrored on a new domain, owned by me. I don't trust anyone else any more. Sad times.

If this starts happening a lot, it may be time to start using that Dreamwidth account I have.

But I've got that whole permanent membership thing, so I'm really hoping they'll get it figured out.
