My Learned friend, I direct your attention to a map of North America.
See where Alberta is. That's the Midwest.
See where the mess of small places over by the Atlantic is(Pennsylvania, et cetera.) That is the East. It has a coast. The East Coast, to be exact.
I would recommend doing away with the State level of government altogether to avoid these unnecessary confusions in future, but let it be as you and your fellow citizens think best. Do try not to kill each other any more, in any event. Regards, Your Servant
