Pro-equality groups have been informed THE MARRIAGE EQUALITY VOTE IN NEW YORK IS THE LAST ITEM ON TONIGHT'S AGENDA.

If you can get to Albany GO NOW.

The anti-equality groups are reading buses of people to make a big protest show. We have to respond.

Are any of the marriage equality groups getting buses together? I'd love to go, but there's no way I can get to Albany without that.

I don't understand how your system works!!!

I was watching the live coverage, and now they're done. And they didn't vote on it. How can they just not vote on it? I mean, that's the best way to make sure no law every changes, of course, but how can they just decide to not even vote on a bill that clearly had enough support results were at least uncertain?

And does this mean it's over, or can they still vote on it tomorrow or next week?

As far as I can find the senate is standing at ease, which just means they are like on dinner break or something. But yes, they can refuse to bring a motion to bring the vote to the floor in which case nothing will happen and we're fucked. Either today or tomorrow will be the last day of session for the legislative year (which was supposed to end yesterday) so we're down to the wire and very tense.

NY State politics are, as an aside, a known clusterfuck of not serving the people.

Yes, "stand at ease" is what they said. But it's late... will they come back to vote THAT late at night?

So, what's stopping the GOP from just never allowing a vote on this, full stop?

Please tell me something is stopping them...

There's nothing stopping them other than people holding other bills hostage.

They will come back that late, because there are a few other stray issues lying around. The hostaging of other issues may have worked to force a vote, that's what we're waiting to see.

"NY Senate is at ease. GOP conference at 6:15, Rules at 7:30, Senate won't reconvene until after that."

So more later tonight.

I had a nap, because I'm not getting any damn sleep tonight, I'll tell you that for nothing!

Excited, anxious, hopeful, don't care if hopes get dashed.
I can taste change on the wind.

Is it wrong to be watching and ponder on the sexual attractiveness of particular senators? (Senator Savino, I'm google-stalking you...)

Still waiting for it to come up.
