My former back-up utility, LJ Archive, no longer works. (And not because of LJ's outage, I don't think.)
Do you have one that you use?

I am in the process of using X-Journal for Mac, but it's super cranky due to the outage and I don't know if it grabs comments yet, but it's something.

Thank you, I'll look into it.
prettybird suggested porting to Dreamwidth as an option. I don't know if comments port; I'd imagine not. I don't want to be on dw necessarily, but I'm considering it just as a stop-gap for backup.

Dreamwidth does import comments too. Or, at least, it did when I ported to DW, and I'm sure they didn't change that part of the import process.
Dreamwidth import is working and does port over comments

FYI.
It doesn't have the search functionality that other backups do, but it is technically a backup.
